Introducing Investment Rosita (Miss Rosie)

Investment Rosita (Rosie) is a completely stunning sorrel mare with long flaxen mane and tail, with the most wonderfully calm and sweet disposition.  She was sired by Principle Investment out of EBG Rositas Hobby.  She was purchased in 2014 to be a brood mare for Hes Berry Blazin, however after many years of trying for a Troy baby, (even trying embryo transfers),  we were forced to accept that there must be a genetic incompatibility between her and Troy and had given up all hope of a Troy baby.  So we bred her to other studs.

In 2019 on her foal heat at the end of April, we had half a dose of Troy's semen left over and not wanting to waste it, we inseminated Rosie with it, and naturally we were not expecting anything to come out of it.  Surprise, surprise - Rosie got pregnant to Troy on half a dose of Troy's semen!!!!!  Since then Rosie has gone on to have the following foals:

  • Shez Berry Invested (Miss Jody) in 2020, sired by Hes Berry Blazin;
  • Hez Berry Invested (Mr. Hercules) in 2022, sired by Hes Berry Blazin;
  • Investment Rocks (Miss Sierra) in 2023, sired by The Berry Cool Rock;

In 2022 Rosie was diagnosed with a squamous cell carcinoma (skin cancer) embedded in the cornea of her left eye. In January 2023 she underwent surgery with Dr Norman of Eye Care for Animals at Durango, who had a reproductive specialist monitoring Rosie's unborn baby.  Rosie recovered very quickly and went on to recover her full eyesight in her left eye, and her unborn baby.  WhenMiss Sierra was born she had suffered no ill-effects from the surgery.  We then made the decision to not breed Rosie again in 2023 to give her time to heal.

In 2024 at the age of 23 years young, Rosie got pregnant on her first attempt to breed her to The Berry Cool Rock for his 2025 foal crop.

Way to go Miss Rosie!!
